We all know that both sugar and artificial sweeteners are bad for us, but not many people actually know why.  We may think that sugar makes us fat and that artificial sweeteners are unnatural, but this article will tell you just how unnatural these little multi-million dollar packets of “fake” sugar really are.

Did you know? There are 12 of these spoons in a regular can of soda

The Enemies of Artificial Sugar

  • Sucralose: SPLENDA is made from sucrose (real table sugar) by replacing atoms with chlorine atoms.  Chlorine-carbon structures are the same structure as are in DDT, which is used to kill pesticides.
  • Aspartame: Nutra-Sweet is a non-carbohydrate sweetener made of aspartic acid and a methyl ester of phenylananine.  This is scientifically proven to cause BRAIN TUMORS.  Phenylalanine may cause phenylketonuria (PKU) for people that cannot metabolize it.
  • Saccharine: Sweet N’ Low is a non-carbohydrate artificial sweetener banned in Canada as it may cause bladder tumors.  The FDA approves it in the U.S.
Sugar
Refined sugar may be considered a poison because it has been depleted of its life forces, vitamins and minerals.  It is lethal when ingested by humans it provides only that which nutritionists describe as “empty” or “naked” calories.  It lacks the natural minerals which are present in the sugar beet or cane.
Sugar taken every day produces a continuously overacid condition, and more and more minerals are required from deep in the body in the attempt to rectify the imbalance.  When the liver is filled to its maximum capacity, the excess glycogen is returned to the blood in the form of fatty acids.
Excessive sugar has a strong mal-effect on the functioning of the brain.
The key to orderly brain function is glutamic acid, which is a vital compound found in many veggies!  The B vitamins play a major role in glutamic acid processing.  B vitamins are also manufactured by symbiotic bacteria which live in our intestines.  When refined sugar is taken daily, these bacteria die, our stock of B vitamins gets very low, glutamic acid is not processed and sleepiness occurs.
Sugar is a major factor in dental decay!
Sweeteners to Choose
  • Honey
  • Agave Nectar
  • Stevia
I obviously eat sugar and sometimes I eat artificial sweeteners as well, but after this lesson last night, artificial sweeteners are definitely out!  I decided that I can go without eating these foods in lieu of serious medical issues!  It’s everyone’s choice on the foods they choose to consume, but I think that everyone should be educated.  Please think twice about consuming sweeteners next time because now days there are plenty of options out there that are naturally sweetened in a body-friendly way:)

  1. Stevia is go-to sweetener of choice these days and thank goodness b/c I used to be an aspartame fiend. Loved me some diet soda back in the day, and giving it up was so hard. Although I try not to use sweeteners very often, stevia is definitely my fav!

  2. Great website…

  3. [...]  It’s good that they re-did the produce with stevia versus artificial sweeteners since I don’t consume artificial sweeteners [...]
