I hope everyone had a great weekend and is fully in summer mode!  I know in AZ we are.  The temperatures have already hit 112 degrees.  Remember a couple of weeks ago when I said that I was going to be completing Insanity Round 2 (for me)?  We’ll I’m happy to announce that I have been consistently doing Insanity 4 times per week as well as either spinning, running, or yoga two other days during the week.  The verdict after just 2 weeks?  I can see the definition coming back into my legs and the cellulite leaving.  I haven’t changed my diet at all… I eat a healthy, low-processed food diet anyways though (with the occasional indulgence, like buffalo wings).  I can also tell my stomach is feeling tighter and more toned.  Let’s just say I think my pants are fitting nicer.

With Insanity, there are various workouts, but here is a typical run down of a workout in the first month:

5 minutes warm up: running in place, jumping jacks, log jumps, butt kicks, high knees, jumps, etc.

8 minutes of stretching

2 different circuits with 4 exercises in each circuit done for 30 seconds: a combination of something like this –  squat jumps, pushups, burpees, running in place, mountain climbers, tricep dips, frog jumps, etc.

4 minutes cool down stretching

It’s a quick and dirty workout!

Endurance Spinning

I went to an endurance spinning class last Friday morning at my gym and loved it!  I have been to the class before about a year ago, but I hadn’t been able to make it back because of my schedule, but this summer I’m able to go.  In this class, they put up an inflatable movie screen that plays music videos that we can watch throughout the entire class, which makes the time fly by!  We stayed in our zones 1 & 2 (out of 5) for the majority of class, but it was still challenging and I was a sweaty mess when I left.  If your gym offers endurance spin, take it!!

I’m off to read my pharmacology notes watch the Bachelorette.  I haven’t seen too many that have captured my heart yet, but I might be leaning toward Sean now.  I do know that I want Kalen to go home. Do you guys have any favorites on the show?
