Pregnancy Journey: Week 27

Size of Baby: Head of Cauliflower

Weight Gain: +1.  I finally felt better about my weight gain for the week.  Maybe my body is slowing down a little bit.  I weigh 137 lbs. for a total of 20 lbs.  Let’s hope I can keep this up.  I think the added exercise is helping a lot.

How I’m Feeling: I had some minor annoying back pain this week.  I was working on some stuff on the computer for the entire week and while doing this, I was sitting on the couch, which I think is what aggravated it actually.  It felt better toward the end of the week when I wasn’t just sitting all day.

I still have heartburn and some round ligament pain sometimes too.

I have noticed linea nigra on my lower abdomen, although I can barely see it due to the size of my stomach.  I tried to shave again this week and that was like an athletic event!

Other than that, nothing too significant!

Doctor’s Appointment:  No doctor’s appointment this week.

What I’m Eating:  I grazed a whole lot more this week instead of having meals.  I feel like I ate a ton, but I am doing better eating several small things all day instead of meals.  When I get too full, it’s really uncomfortable.  I’ve been eating Oikos greek yogurt, breakfast sandwiches with eggs, turkey sausage and cheese on an english muffin and malt-o-meal daily!  I eat breakfast all day:)

Exercise: Still walking 3 miles everyday (or at least most days).  We went to the gym 4 days this week.

My weekly exercise looked like this:
Monday: Walked 3 miles, strength trained
Tuesday: Walked 3 miles, strength trained
Wednesday: Walked 3 miles
Thursday: Walked 3 miles, strength trained
Friday: Walked 2.5 miles
Saturday: Insanity plyo workout (modified)

Like I mentioned in this post, my walks are broken up.  I generally walk 1 mile at the gym, strength train and then walk 2 with Otis after breakfast.

My mom also bought us a rocking chair!  We love it.  It’s big and comfy and I can hardly wait to have it.  We got to pick the fabric, so it’ll be here in about 4-6 weeks.

We painted the baby’s dresser this week.  It was my grandparent’s dresser and then my mom’s dresser when she was growing up and now Aiden’s dresser.  It has been in the family for a long time.  We used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint.  It was a bigger challenge than expected, but in the end it turned out great!  I’ll talk about it in another post!

  1. Great job on the workouts! I can’t seem to do anything lately. Shaving is definitely an event, haha. Even at 23 weeks, it’s hard to see anything.
