Happy New Years!  I hope everyone had a fun, safe celebration last night.  Or… if you’re like me, got lots of sleep and feel great on the first day of the year!

This year has been a bit of a whirlwind, but a good one.  David and I did a lot of big life changing things!  Here they are by the month:

January: I started my last year of school, which was exciting.  I knew that would be the last January I would come back from Christmas vacation.  We also visited David’s parents in Sacramento and took a day trip to San Francisco.

February: I celebrated my 27th birthday and my mom came to town.  David and I also did the Great Urban Race in Scottsdale.

March: March was a quieter month.  David and I did lots of hiking before the temperatures were unbearable in Phoenix.

April: David and I visited my sister and Dave in Minneapolis.  My mom met us there too, so it was a great family affair.  David had never been there, so it was fun to show him a new city! We hit up Blue Door Pub, a Twin’s game that was sadly rained out and went sightseeing through downtown and uptown.

May: David and I celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary in Sedona, AZ.  We went for the night and stayed at a nice hotel, ate food and hung out together!  It was a great memory from 2012.

June: We found out I was pregnant!

July: Our friend’s had their wedding near Sacramento, CA, so we ventured back there for that, saw David’s parents, and then went to San Francisco again for our other friend’s engagement.  It was a whirlwind 5 days, but they were so much fun!  I wasn’t really drinking the wine in the picture!

August: We found the house we wanted to buy.  We looked in Denver for 3 days and put in an offer on the last house we saw and it turned out to be perfect.  The house-buying process long distance was a bit of a pain, but this occupied a lot of my August.

September: I had my graduation from Acupuncture School.  I wasn’t officially finished with school, but because they only hold one per year for all graduates, September is the time.  My mom, sister and Dave all flew down for it and we stayed in a beautiful place in Scottsdale!  It was paradise with my virgin pina colada and all.

David ran the Rock and Roll Denver half marathon, so we both came for that.  We did some house stuff that weekend, saw my mom and our friends, Ashley and Keith.

October: I finished school!  And we moved to Denver the same day that I finished.  David’s dad and my mom helped us move and we made the transition fairly smoothly. Otis, my mom, and I made the drive together from Phoenix to Denver together in two days.  IMG_1433 I also cut about 7 inches off my hair right before we moved!

November:  I visited my best friend in Seattle that I hadn’t seen since our wedding in May 2011. I hadn’t been up to Seattle since a year before that!  It was so good to see her.

We also ventured up to Vancouver for the afternoon.

IMG_1441 David and I hosted Thanksgiving for my family this year in our brand new house!  There were 4 dogs in my house, so sadly, that’s the only pictures we took!

December: I found a place to operate my acupuncture business out of!  I made it to my third trimester of pregnancy and celebrated Christmas two weekends with my family.  Again, my family is notoriously terrible for taking pictures at holidays.  I took pictures for the remainder of the year, but at holidays, I forget?  That’s gotta be a goal for 2013!

On tap for 2013:

Aiden will make his arrival in March

I’m going to continue to build Denver Acupuncture and Wellness

I’m going to make a comeback to running and hopefully sign up for a 1/2 marathon in August!

We are traveling to California to see David’s family during the summer

AND… we have some other exciting news to come…
