From now until Thanksgiving, I’m going to be doing a series from the Chasing Happy Blog called the Thankful Project. Each day, there is a topic to write what you’re thankful for. If you have a blog, you can link up and follow along as well. If you don’t have a blog, write what you’re thankful for in the comments.
I’ll also be sprinkling in some of the “normal programming” throughout the month too!
Today’s topic is an experience that I’m happy I had. I’ve had several experiences worth writing about, but for today, I’m going to designate having a natural birth as my experience.
On March 4, 2013, I got to experience the birth I wanted by giving birth naturally. This almost didn’t happen, but in the end, it did and that’s all that I asked for.
Since I was pregnant, I really wanted to experience the raw feelings of what a women’s body could do. I was excited to go through all the stages and see what my body had produced for all the months leading up to the birth.
I think all birth stories are beautiful and there is not “right” way to give birth, so I’m definitely not discounting any type of birth. I was really close to getting an epidural myself. This was just my wish and I’m very happy it came true!
