We are on the mend this week getting back to rested and healthy. To be honest, this week was a little exhausting due to Aiden having croup and being admitted to the hospital last weekend. He is definitely much better, but still nursing like a newborn, which has taken a bit out of me.
My mom came into town to help get our life back in order on Wednesday, so that’s been really nice to have an extra pair of hands.
Without further adieu, here is this week’s favorites!
Happy Easter Smoothie. Maybe you don’t want to start your Easter Sunday off with a mimosa, but want a festive way to start the day. This has you covered. It’s pretty and ultra healthy. The layers each contain super healthy ingredients to get you feeling great!
Stride Rite Shoes. I’m the first to admit I was a little lost when it came to Aiden wearing shoes. I always heard not to put them in hard soled shoes when they were learning to walk, so I stuck with the crib shoes, but with all the walking, he needed something more substantial on his feet and he hated wearing shoes as well. I also had heard that Stride Rite shoes were really good to start them off in, so I ventured to their store. We finally had Aiden’s feet measured because I also had no idea what size he wore – turns out a 5 wide. Who knew?! They have shoes for crawlers, early walkers and off and running. I bought Aiden the early walker pair because he’s never had anything on his feet really. He loves them and I love them too!
Natural Egg Dye. I really like this visual of what to use to make certain colors on Easter eggs! I don’t want to use the artificial dye and love the idea of using actual food to dye the eggs. I think these are really pretty too.
Just Between Friends Consignment Event. My mom and I went to Castle Rock yesterday to this sale in search of some outdoor toys for Aiden. They are really pricey new, so we thought we would see if there were any at this huge consignment sale. These are all over North America and people consign anything that has to do with pregnancy, babies and kids. They have a pre-sale day the Wednesday before, so a lot of the higher ticket items get picked over that day, but we did come home with this Little Tykes Kitchen for $50 and some clothes for him including a Nuggets jersey (I know they are bad). So far, he loves his little kitchen.
Fed Up Movie. I know there are several other documentaries about the obesity epidemic and food crisis in our country, but this is the newest one coming out. Katie Couric is featured in the movie and it discusses childhood obesity in particular.
There you have it. I pray that this weekend is a good one – the past two weekends have had some unfortunate events happen, so I think we’re due. We’re planning on a family trip to the Denver Zoo in particular.
