How Do I Know If I Have A Hormone Imbalance?

Ahhh hormones! If they are balanced, you don’t even notice them. But… if they are unbalanced and out of whack, then you’re left wondering what the heck is wrong!

The problem with hormones is that the symptoms of imbalance are widespread and can be a little difficult to diagnose especially if you’re just going to your PCP.

First, your master hormones are cortisol, adrenaline and insulin. Cortisol is your stress hormone, adrenaline is your fight or flight hormone and insulin is related to your blood sugar. These three are the first places to look in your lifestyle.

Here is a laundry list of other symptoms that show your hormones are likely out of whack somewhere (in no particular order):

❤️Weight gain
❤️Bloating
❤️Irritability, feeling edgy and overwhelmed
❤️Low immune function
❤️Cysts, fibroids and polyps
❤️Irregular periods
❤️Restless sleep or insomnia
❤️Anxiety and depression
❤️Hair loss
❤️Feeling cold or hot
❤️Fatigue
❤️Feeling wired but tired
❤️PMS
❤️Breast tenderness
❤️Cramping
❤️Spotting
❤️Vaginal dryness
❤️Low libido

By the way, hormone imbalances can be fixed. Where there is a will, there is a way. No normalizing and accepting these things as “well I’m getting older” or “this is just what women have to deal with.”

It’s not – our hormones should be working for us – not against us.
